done, haha...not quite
So classes are over...yippeeee. But the semester is not quite done. The last show struck yesterday and now we are getting ready for dance light which takes place in um, oh yeah...January. There is a job lead for it, but let's go ahead and do it now anyway. What the hell I got nothing else to do.
Geography of a Horse Dreamer

Horse Dreamer was not a bad show..it was short, which was good. As much as I want to watch somebody tied to a bed for an act and then crawling around barking like a dog for the next...whatever, not my type of show. Maybe I just didn;t get it. I don't know. The process seemed like a smooth one. The designer and job lead got everything accomplished that they wanted to and they worked together so nicely that I didn't have to be there (which I loved).
I enjoyed the paint treatment on the floor, it reminded me of the actual chairs in the theatre which was kind of cool...it was a nice way to draw people in and I don't know if people even realized that thats what it was.
Urinetown strike is over. A couple people came in at 8am and took the set apart and had it gone by 11, took lunch back at noon to meet the crew and finish up. Should have been relatively easy and mostly painless but It dragged on forever, the little bit of remaining set took another 5 hours. I guess that makes question what happened in the strike meeting that thought we could finish the set in the given time. Why for instance, wasn't the strike crew split in half in order to get scenery out the way, then lights, the scenery again...I feel like that would have just made some kind of sense, of well....all's done and said. Everything around here is backwards.
Tomorrow the faculty all get together to have their little meetings about people's crew grades...see who gets cut, see who should be cut but won't be. Let's face it there are certain people that are around that you have to question what the hell they have done to be around still. There are people that have graduated that make you question wether you really want a degree from the same place as them. I don;t know, just one of those days.
To much time cleaning up after other people, to much time doing work for other people, to much time thinking...
On the other hand, you know those little silver balls that fly back and forth and hit eachother on strings (no clue what they are called). They are silver, hang on strings...usually 5 balls total...how weird would it be to have one made out of pool balls? This was brought up today. I love how creative some people can be and that they use their free time to do cool projects like that.
I think the freshman are amazing, I just thought I should say that one more time before I don;t have them next semester.
Oh yeah, next semester...Nathan the Wise
That kicked into gear this semester, 2 weeks of crew are done. And I think we are ahead thanks to the skill of our overhire on the shop floor and our freshman kicking ass. Yeah freshman!

Doesn't it look like a bunch of bookshelves?
